Revit Annotations Partially Missing

Hi there, I've uploaded a video of an issue I'm having in Revit where part of my annotations that were previously visible are now partially missing. You can see in my video that if I adjust the text box the annotations will appear.

In case someone asks:

  • I have a hybrid work schedule and printed this same set to PDF last week in the office with no issue. I printed this same set to pdf at my home office yesterday, and my boss redlined this set noting there was text in the PDF that looked incomplete. When I came back to the office today to pick up red lines, I saw that the text was hidden in my Revit project as you can see in the video.
  • Nothing changed on this sheet between my two prints.
  • The annotation type was not modified at all between prints.
  •  My monitors are not identical between home and office, but I don't see why this would be an issue.

This is a pretty serious issue considering it requires a heavy handed QC effort to reread all notes for things that were previously correct. If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I was looking for a Schedule, but it's about Text Notes. Do you have the same fonts installed on both home and office pc?

I've seen this with Revit 2017, where Autodesk made some changes to Text Notes, and as a result, a file created with an older version would have all text notes affected as shown in your video.

Thanks for your reply. I originally worked on a Lenovo laptop, where the text notes looked fine in Revit and the print. After switching to a Predator laptop due to technical issues, most annotations started appearing hidden or incorrect, despite having the same ARchitext font installed. Revit defaulted to Arial on the new laptop for text annotations only. Strangely the dimension font still showed as ARchitext. The issue was only resolved after reinstalling the font and restarting Revit multiple times. I can confirm the font was installed from the same file that was installed on the Lenovo. I don't see why switching font would hide text that was originally visible. The root cause is unclear, especially since similar issues occasionally occurred on the Lenovo as well.

Ho @JordanL7NBQ ,

Maybe just a issue with the font/installation/update windows etc...?, Happy a reinstall of the font worked.

For the size difference, each font has a different width (and can differ per character even, dots etc...)

So I'm guessing Arial is a little wider then ARchitext, and because the style wasn't changed in the type Revit applied no adjustment to the Text note width.

Could be solved by changing the Font Type in the Note Type and then back again and see if the note updates.

@TripleM-Dev.net this had to have been it, and I'll make a mental note that if the original font isn't loading, we'll need to double check all annotations. If there's a next time, I'll try changing the font in the annotation back and forth to see if that corrects all of them. Thanks for your help!
