Revit and Touch Screens

I recently bought a Lenovo Yoga 920 and loaded Revit 2017 and 2019 on the computer.  Revit 2017 has no problem with touch screen input but Revit 2019 type selector refuses to drop down when a wall is selected. That means that it only supports touchpad or mouse input.  Has anyone else noticed this?  This defect appears to occur when pointing with fingers or the pen.  Touch works on the menu and on the screen but without the type selector working, it makes touch screen input pretty useless.

Hi there,

I just thought I'd check, have you installed the latest update for Revit 2019?
Is it only the type selector drop down that doesn't appear or do other drop downs within the properties also not show up?

I've installed all the updates that don't relate to things I don't need per the Desktop App.

I haven't checked every feature of Revit but the type selector is huge compare to the rest so fingers shouldn't have any problems.  I also used the pen and it still had the same issues.  This was using the Residential template, which has a number of walls built in so there were types to select if the drop down had worked.

I'm also disappointed that none of the Revit versions support pinch zoom, which is much more convenient on touch screens than other built-in zoom methods.

Hi @dbroad

Interesting, thanks for reporting this - can you share a screencast? And also post this to the ideas forum?

Thanks,

What I don't understand is why Revit/Autodesk hasn't rolled out a full-touchscreen version. I've tried it on a touch screen and it's simply too difficult to select the various "tools", drop-down menus, and so on. Microsoft is already in the midst of designing within a virtual environment. I've been an end-user for 25+ years, in a host of firms that are still frustrated using Adesk products, and still cannot figure out how AutoDesk defines its user experience.
