So my 3D rendering background does not show up how I expect it to be. It always gives me a plain background like this or sometimes even no background at all. I was wondering if there was a fix to this? Any suggestions?

Sun Settings control horizon if that's what you are looking for.

What do you mean by that? I looked at the settings and this is what it displays

Actually, I thought it was Gradient Background. I see now it's Cloudy Sky.  What do you want different exactly?

I am looking for backgrounds like this youtube video

https://youtu.be/5ycwj7wJqT4

I follow his instructions but my background does not come out like his, it comes out really plain like the example I showed earlier.

Clouds only show in perspective views.  Use Image instead.

I'm not sure which part of this video you are following.  You are using Sky Cloudy Background - not Image or Color.  Mess with your  View Angle and Time of Day. Set to Still.

Thank you, I will mess around with that and let you know if I figure it out

Messing with time of day can make your rendering darker or lighter, but clouds will still not show in orthographic 3D views.  Just download a sky photo and use it as the background.  Revit procedural clouds are garbage anyway.
