Since Revit 2022, you can access the family library by clicking on the Load Autodesk Family.

As for file download and installation, check and see if the Microsoft Security prevent you from installing.

I don't know when it started, but my version has instructions on how to get content. they probably know this keeps disappearing. i have re-installed the oob families multiple times and kind of gave up.

I just use the cloud oob families. they have a nicer search anyway and don't disappear.

Since autodesk is not fixing the "disappearing" installed oob families, I assume they will give that up and focus on the cloud.

@HVAC-Novice : Have you downloaded the content library? If so, you are in the wrong folder. Backup and open the content folder - whatever its name is.

this is the " imperial Library" folder.

I had successfully followed instructions multiple times to re-instate to oob families. The problem is, after a while (maybe after updates?), it disappears again. I just don't bother anymore and use the cloud oob families.

The cloud families seem to be the same ones. they can just get rid of that local copy of oob families to make it less confusing.
