Revit 2023: Why some of the levels appear in black color and others appear in blue?

I couldn’t figure out why some of the levels appear in black color and others appear in blue.

What does this indicate for?

Blue are associated to Plan Views.

View Tab>Plan Views>Floor Plan, and select the level. The level will now appear blue.

When you have no floorplan or reflected ceiling plan it stays black. As soon as you create a planview of that specific level it will turn blue

The “floor plan” is performed. The number of levels doesn’t match the floor plan.

What could be the issue here?

When you check for level 2 - 5, see which level it is associate with. The level name should have the same as associate level. If not, rename it.

What you see in the browser are views, not levels.  You can rename the wrong levels to the correct names and check if the view names match them.

Add the associated level to your browser grouping to see what views are associated with what levels. This will help you quickly determine if you have multiple views associated with any of the levels (and perhaps just not named correctly as others have suggested).

If you only have one plan per level then you need to check to see if there are other levels that have been hidden or are outside of the view limits (due to cropping, scope boxes, section boxes, etc).

I kept only the views that have corresponding levels in the elevation and deleted the rest. However, as I wanted to rename them, it says that Level 2, for example, is already in use. What could be the issue here?

I have a feeling you checked "Do not show me this message again" at one point in time.

To get it back, you need to open and modify your  user Revit INI File.

...or you could just delete the user INI File and let Revit create a new for one.

Have any of your levels been hidden? Click the Light bulb to reveal hidden elements in 3D view to see if Levels 2-5 are hidden. Then zoom all as their extents might have them off somewhere else.

If you cannot find the Level 2-5, I would suggest to create a level schedule

syman2000_0-1702053199528.png

Select the name of the level

syman2000_2-1702053232925.png

Select one of the cell and click on highlight in model. You can also delete the hidden level using the schedule. Click on the delete button.

Are you receiving the error message when you are renaming the level or the view?

If it's when you're renaming the view then make sure that all of your views are showing in the Project Browser by removing any filters:

If it's the level, then a schedule (as mentioned by others) is a good idea, or even go back to the Plan views tool and uncheck the "Do not duplicate existing views" box to see all of the defined levels in your model (although this method will not give you an easy way to find any missing levels as the schedule suggestion does).

The “schedule” and “floor plan” show different number of levels than those appearing in the “elevation” or on the “project browser”

Then why the elevation or the project browser fail to show all levels?

1) as @Mike.FORM suggested, check the view(s) to make sure that no levels are hidden in the view.

2) Check for any filters applied to the view(s) to make sure that they aren't being hidden based on some specific property

3) turn off any cropping for the view(s), if model view also disable the section box if it's enabled

4) disable any Scope Boxes that might be applied to the view(s)

5) then zoom the view to extents

If a level doesn't show in the Project browser then it's because it doesn't have any views associated with it for a given plan type.

Back at message 4, after using the plan view tool to create the missing plans, you had a floor plan for each of the levels showing in your browser in one of your screen captures.

Wait a minute...

@JamaL9722060  I just took a closer look at your post that included the schedule and I noticed that your levels may be sitting on top of each other (judging by the elevation of them shown in your schedule):

I already said this earlier: create a level schedule and delete levels from there.

As per the screenshot below, for example, the level of 9 meters elevation is repeated. However, the labels (texts) that represent the level number in the drawing are not clashed. How come?
