Hey everyone,
I am unable to modify the colors of my MEP consultants model while linked into my teams Architectural model. We are trying to change the MEP elements to black lines but are unable to do so. After some digging, I found that the consultant has overridden the colors of the system families. See image:
I have tried several different methods (Filters, Object styles, model category overrides) to override the colors in our model without changing anything in the consultants model but I have not found a solution that works.
Does this override within the linked mode trump all other forms of graphic overrides? Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.

Doesn't make sense. Is the Link set to BY HOST VIEW under the View's VGOs? How about the Phase Graphic Overrides? Are the Link's Phases Mapped Correctly?
Hold the phone. I misread you. You don't want the Link controlled by Host Settings. You want to control the Link VGOs independently, so you need to set Link and it's Model Categories to Custom. Have you tried that?

Hi barthbradley,
To clarify. The consultants have overridden their system families to show in color in their model. And I need them to be displayed black in my model.
I have tried applying custom visibility/graphics to the link in my model. It did not override the colors.
Are you saying that the Link's colors are displaying in every view in the Model? And the Link is set to BY HOST VIEW in all those Views? If so, I'm stumped. Are you sure that what you are seeing colored are Revit Elements? Could it be coming from a DWG in the foreground?
Think I got a workaround for you.

This solved it, thank you!
I had tried filters before posting my question but they didn't work when I created any rules no matter how loose the rules were. Who would have guessed no rules at all would solve it lol.
Thanks again for the help.
It is odd. A Ruled-Based Filter without rules. What's this world coming to? We're on the brink of anarchy.
