Revit 2023 licence manager is not functioning or is improperly installed

Hello

I've just downloaded Revit 2023, but am unable to open it. The first screen says

"System Maintenance

Something has gone wrong on our end. We apologize for the inconvenience."

When I close the window, a further message comes up saying:

"Revit 2023 licence manager is not functioning or is improperly installed.

Revit will shut down now."

Does anyone know how to resolve this, or do we need to wait for an update from Autodesk?

I had this same problem on multiple workstations here and reinstalling the license software didn't work on any of them.  The only thing that worked was getting rid of every trace of previous Adsso installs and then reinstalling it.  Found the answer on this post: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/cannot-log-into-autodesk-from-revit-2021/m-p...

I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the Autodesk Single Sign On Component:

  1. Navigate to Control Panel > Uninstall a program.
  2. Find the Autodesk Single Sign On Component and uninstall it.
  3. Remove the folders:
    C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdSSO
    C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Autodesk AdSSO
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk AdSSO
  4. Navigate to the software installation media (e.g., for AutoCAD it would be C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_2020_English_Win_64bit_dlm).
  5. Open the folder ...\x64\AdSSO.
  6. Run the AdSSO.msi and let the installation complete.

The license Manager is not functioning or is improperly installed. Running will shut down now.

My licensee manager got damaged. Reinstalling Revit has not helped.

I am using Revit 2025 and whatever I do I cannot get stop getting the note " The Licence Manager is not functioning or is improperly installed".  I have followed all the Autodesk suggestions and am now trying to follow your directions, only to find that I do not have a folder C:\Program Data\Autodesk\AdSSO !

So what can I do now?

Thank you,

I have the same problem, but with Autocad. I tried everything, and it only happens with Autocad (revit and autocad architecture works fine). Did you find a solution?
