Revit 2022 on Mac running Parallels VM "Licensing manager is not functioning properly..."

I am on a MacBook Pro 2021 M1 Max chip (not intel) and am using a virtual machine through Parallels to use Revit 2022. Everything was working properly until last week. I started getting the "licensing manager is not functioning properly..." message and I found the article that lists all the troubleshooting options. I've done everything on the list twice. Even clean uninstalled every Autodesk item on my machine. The only thing I haven't done is uninstall/reinstall Parallels. I work from home and had to ask my dad to borrow his desktop Windows PC and download Revit there. It immediately gave me the same error and the first thing I did was download the update to the licensing manager and boom, it worked. So that leads me to believe the reason my machine won't resolve the issue is because its a Mac running a VM. I am so stressed and am about ready to pull my hair out. I wish Autodesk would just come out with a version of Revit for Mac. 99% of my life problems would disappear.

Anyway, does anyone have any idea why this is happening or what I can try next? I'm using Windows 11 Insider Preview, if that is any help at all. Thanks.

Have you try resetting the Autodesk license from the Window service? Check this video. Make sure you turn on caption to get the auto translate to english.

I checked this and it was already running and automatic. But I turned it off, restarted the machine and turned it back on for good measure. Still didn’t work, unfortunately.

That may have something to do with it, but it has been working and running fine since I bought the Mac in October when it was released. I was off work for a week last week for vacation and when I came back to work, it just didn’t work anymore. And now when I click on Revit to start it up, it takes 4 whole minutes to even tell me “licensing manager isn’t functioning….”

Just two weeks ago, I was able to boot up Revit and be working on a project in less than 30 seconds.

I will look into my options for version of Windows. I may have to wipe Windows and Parallels and start over setting them up.

I ended up reaching out to Autodesk support and they fixed the issue by uninstalling the most recent update to Windows. They said Microsoft is aware of the issue and is looking for a resolution. But if you have an M1 Mac with Parallels, don't let any updates happen to Windows for the time being.

I have the same problem, but Windows won't let me roll back. Can you write what version of the Windows update you have on which Revit runs?

I'm running Microsoft Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview. The version is 10.0.22543 Build 22543. I have a reminder set to remind me to go into my settings and "pause updates" to Windows each week because it only allows me to pause updates for one week....which is obnoxious. I wish Autodesk would just come out with Revit for Mac and we wouldn't have to deal with all this lol
