Revit 2019 no longer allows to input a value to description from the schedule?

Hi All

I am wondering if this is a bug or new to Revit 2019.

I was in the window schedule trying to input a description to a family type it gives me the message window warning that all family types will be affected then nothing happens.

although it does allow me to use the existing descriptions from the drop down ... is anyone aware of this?

thanks

That is normal if it is a type parameter.....change one it changes them all of the same type.

in fact it has always been that way but my question is, in Revit 2019 is not allowing me to do that from the schedule only from the family type in the model.

also it is allowing me to do that with instance parameters but not with type parameters

again I am talking about adding a new description to a type right from the schedule.

It has always done that for as long as I can remember.  The message is just a warning letting you know that it is changing the type variable and it may take a while to update.  Just click okay.

Instance parameters are just for that one element.  That is why my doors are 100% instance parameter created...I don't have to change 500+ doors just to change the door hardware on one...so there isn't a warning.

I am here in another schedule of CP ... in the description I added a new one and nothing happens.

the warning message is not my issue just the application of the new comment is not being accepted in the schedule ...

anyways if you have revit 2019 go to a schedule try to input your new description to a family type and let me know what happens

if it works for you I mean it does accept the text then it's my revit an need to reload it or see what is going on.

I am almost asking has 1+1=2 always been there?/ lol

thanks

I find schedule editing is affected when it includes elements in linked files. If that's true of your schedule (include elements in links) then that might be influencing it.

Thank you for the response.

I never had this issue before I just upgraded to 2019 and I have it now with same model I use to work with.

I did the include elements in links but didn't do it.. since the items I am trying to insert a description comment are not part of a link anyways.

I you have 2019 and you can select a family type description in the schedule and type in a new comment and revit accepts it then it's my version that needs to be updated or something else.

thanks
