Revit 2019 Freezing

Hi All,

I'm having an issue with Revit 2019. Its currently fully patched after being re-installed. I'm currently using s Dell 5520 laptop with a company OS, and sadly McAfee encryption and AV.

The issue I face is that the program freezes, often in mid command for no reason I can see or trace, every 5 minutes or so, I've not actually timed this, maybe I should. I do have Revit 2019 on a desktop machine which does not have the same issue so I know its a problem with the laptop. I don't know where to start looking for the cause as Ctrl-alt-del worked just fine as do other applications, Revit just seems to take a quick break, no other application shows the same behavior, only Revit.

Any help or guidance will be most gratefully received.

Thanks

Roy

I am using 2019 with a borrowed license, working from home, no VPN or anything and was having the same freezing as the OP.  Downloaded and installed this hotfix and now it is working fine.

My Revit freezes whenever I do close up or try to fix dimensions.

I have student license, HP omen laptop which I just had to buy for this software.

Any suggestions?

Is this bug fixed in Revit 2021?  If it is, that would be a motivation for moving up.

Hi, I've been using 2021 exclusively for the last 5 month now and I can report none of the freezing issues seen in the 2019 version have surfaces in any form, so far it's been utterly stable for our current structures projects, so much so we're in the progress of fully upgrading a large number of 2018 projects to the current version.

Hi guys,

It's now 2022 and this is still going on. The only solution when I need to create a family is to go offline, but still need to suffer once I'm ready to pull in my shared parameters. I'm not sure the shared parameters will be compatible if I copy the shared parameters file to an offline location... anybody tried that?

Thank you,

-Paul

the problem for me is completely gone. I acted by disabling the paging file from the advanced system settings of win 11 the problem was frequent on both revit 2021 and revit 2023
