Revit 2019 Energy Analysis

I had been using Revit 2016 for last 2 year. But, recently I switched to 2019. As Revit 2019 has the Insight feature built in I now am unable to generate energy analysis report like it used to in Revit 2016.. Please help..

Yes, it is possible to run an energy analysis in Revit 2019 - see product help pages HERE

Please see screenshot below:

Energy analysis for Revit 2019Once you've generated your energy model, you will receive an email to confirm receipt of the analysis request. Depending on the size and complexity of the model, the analysis may take anywhere from a couple minutes to an hour or more to process. See About the Energy Model Creation Process.

When the analysis is complete, you will receive another email containing a link to the model in Autodesk Insight. Use Insight to optimize building energy.

Hi! I am experiencing the same trouble looking for energy analysis report. Where can I find similar report as featured ie. in this video (ca. 14 min.) ?  I cannot find such charts and tables in Insight. I will be grateful for any tips!

The report created by energy analysis tools in Revit are not available in 2018 and 2019 (maybe 2017?).  The Insight dashboard has replaced the energy analysis report.

I'm a bit sorry to hear this though. A real native integration in revit looked very transparent and easy to use.

I understand your disappointment, but I have found the Insight dashboard much more useful to understand the actions that can be taken to make a design more energy efficient. The older style report looked good and was able to be printed out, but gave little feedback to the designer on what actions could be taken to make a design better. the Insight dashboard surfaces that in a more intuitive way. I see this when teaching college students. The understand their decisions and the impacts much more clearly., in the past the energy analysis was just something had to do. The Insight dashboard is a tool the USE.

Hello! Maybe in 2020? This kind of report are available in 2020 version? Do you recommmend moving to gren building studio for this type of report?

I think it is safe to say those kinds of tables/charts that existed for energy analysis in 2016 will NOT be back in the foreseeable future. Insight is the "new" way energy analysis is intended to work in Revit.

As for Green Building Studio, it does not really produce the same kind of graphics either. it has something that is close but not really useful in my opinion. Green Building Studio does basically the same kind of analysis Insight does, but with a few more user control to let you compare results between scenarios a bit finer maybe?  I would personally stick with Insight as i find the way the information is presented much easier to understand and better informs me where I could make a change to my design to have the maximum impact on a buildings energy use footprint.
