Revit 2019 2.1 update via SCCM

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but I'm having a problem installing the Revit 2019 2.1 update via SCCM. I can install the update packaged with the full Revit installer just fine, however when trying the update as a standalone package I'm having issues. 

 

I can install the update correctly without SCCM with and without a /q switch. I can install the package using SCCM without a /q switch just fine as well. However when I install the package with SCCM and with a /q switch in the program the update doesn't install. 

 

The command Autodesk_Revit_2019_2_1. exe /q runs without any errors and returns error code 0 (a successful installation). However this only takes a second or so, which is much shorter than the actual installation, and when I check Revit it isn't actually updated. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Bear in mind I haven't tried an application deployment as I'm unsure on the detection method.

I assume you assumed everyone knew what SCCM is.

@Anonymous  Are you deploying the update through a SCCM sever on just one user/ machine or multiple machines at the same time?

 

can you clarify the process you follow and share a windows log?

 

Have you tried updating from the desktop app individually?

Well if you don't know what SCCM is then this question obviously isn't aimed at you is it?

Hi Viveka,

 

The update is going from an SCCM server to one PC for testing purposes, but when I get the package fixed it will be pushed to multiple machines. I've attached a copy of execmgr.log (install is at 15:51 19/06) - hopefully it'll help.

Process is as follows:

  1. Create Revit 2019 2.1 package on SCCM with the command "Autodesk_Revit_2019_2_1.exe /q".
  2. Update the content on our distribution points and push the package to my test PC.
  3. On the test PC I run the Software updates deployment evaluation cycle to download and run the package.
  4. Check CMTrace to see the status of the installation (which is succeeded). But when I open Revit it's still running 19.0.0.405.

Unless the Desktop App has a way of pushing the software to hundreds of PC's then I don't think it'll help.

Viveka, I also noticed that after the SCCM install is 'complete' if I try and run the standalone update it prompts me to uninstall the update even thought it's not installed properly. So some of the installation has worked, just not all of it.
