Revit 2018: install errors?

Anyone else getting a bunch of errors when trying to install Revit 2018 Building Design Suite?

I'm trying to install it on two workstations right now. One completely failed twice, so far. The other machine is still running, so we'll see.

Attached is the LOG file from the failed install.

Thanks,
Derek

Hi @Anonymous,

Try downloading the installer from the Virtual Agent instead and use that to install the software. You may refer to this article about Installing Autodesk products from the Virtual Agent for the detailed instructions.

I hope this helps, let us know how it goes. Thank you.

I have a hard time understanding how this installer can still be so buggy. I have yet to install 2018, but had huge issues with both '15, '16 and '17, which - in the end - resulted in using the Virtual Agent, which worked perfectly both times.

And this is not just on one machine either, installer failed on pretty much 50% of an entire class of Constructing Architects (130 students), and for me personally on 3 different machines using 3 different networks and multiple attempts.

Seems like a good focus area for '19 😉

I have the same problem,  I have re-installed the 3rd or 4th time.   During the second time (in April 2017), it was installed and I had keyed in the Licence ID.  but there was another remnant parallel installation ongoing which wiped out the 2nd successful installed.  The 4th installation is done 4 months later now (30 Aug 2017).  Rgds.

We're experiencing similar Revit 2018 installation failures today, and it amazes me how different the user experience is office wide. Out of a dozen autodesk product users, half successfully install and the other half fail - All setup under the same firewall and windows security schemes. We did "not" use this virtual agent method yet, but it surprises me that this isn't presented to us as mandatory at this point and I had to come to the forums to learn about it. There are 3 common ways our employees try to download and install software updates (I'm sure there is probably more):

 1) Open Autodesk Application Manager and if new product is available, install from there

 2) Go to Autodesk Account Management website, find product entitlements, and install from there

 3) Go to Revit product page, download and install trial version, then later activate it
