Revit 2018 - Cannot see project in Revit, project on shared external hard drive

Hi,

I am new to using Revit, so I apologize if this post has already been answered, but I have not found anything in regards to my problem.

I am working on a group University project that needs to use Revit. My group has a point cloud stored on an external hard drive, which we plan to create a 3D model on. We have not set up a LAN to collaborate on the project, as we do not have access to the University network to store a central file.

When "User A" opens the project on their university login, the point cloud is rendered, we have our levels, and they are able to model. After User A is done working on the project for the day, I receive the external hard drive to continue working on the project. The only issue is, the point cloud does not show up in the work space when I open the project. We have ensured that we relinquish ownership of worksets so that the next person to work on the model can edit. But, there is nothing in the work space to edit. User A does not seem to have issues with the point cloud not showing up in there work space. Any thoughts/ideas?

Go to Manage Links and check to see what the Saved Path is.

When they use the external hard drive it may assign a different drive letter than what your computer assigns it to be.

The drive letter is the same on both computers. However checking the manage links button, it appeared Revit was accessing our point cloud off of User A's desktop, not the external hard drive. Thank you for the help.
