Revit 2018 and Revit 2017 file compatibility and exchange

hey everybody, 

i want to use outsourcing help but he is using 2017 and i use 2018/

how can i overcome this problem?

Exporting/Importing IFC files would be the only real route but I imagine that would be less than desirable. Maybe the way to go would be to have the outsource resource subscribe to Revit or Revit LT for the length of the project? I have a feeling that would pay for itself after attempting to exchange IFC files a couple of times.

Upgrading Revit Projects to a New Version

You could use a trial version of the same version (2017) which your consultant has.

is the revit supposed to be able to open the icf file?

do i need to open it with import or any athe special command?

Ho do you get the 2017 trial? I couldn't find it.
