Revit 2018.2 PDF printing Quality Issue

Hii,

 I have a problem when printing to PDF in revit 2018.2. Please see the attached pics. The bars and other lines are bulgy. it is always printing with the  line weight even if I select the  ''Thin line'' option.  its is not what I see in revit. I tried with cute pdf, Pdf creator, DoPDF, Bio pdf etc. and even checked with DWF exporter. Still the result is same. I don't have any problem with pdf printing when I was using revit 2017.

Hi,

The "Thin line" type itself may having a line weight , and so try to go to ,

Manage > Additional Settings > Line style

and choose your line style " Thin Line " and change its line weight and let it be "1" (as attached JPG`s)

the reason at your case that let lines having different graphical appearance between Revit & PDF , I think because you are using (TL) tool , disable this tool to be able to see the same line weights in Revit and in PDF (see attached JPG)

I believe revit is giving what you see that what you get. In this case it is not.

@shefypattambi are you sure that the line type used is "Thin lines "not any type else ?? check please , as this is a weird attitude from Revit.

Hii,

could you please tell me how can I check that. All my line style is based upon the object style. Are you using Revit 2017 ?

 if so could you please show me your pen weight assigned for each line thickness ?

@shefypattambi

to check pen weight assigned for each line ,,,,,

Manage > Additional Settings > Line weights (see attachment)

I think you might have overridden the line weight from the VG (Visibility Graphics override) which will do the override on a specific view only (see attachment)

as for checking which line style used ,,,,(check the attachment)

Check elevation line style of the category under VG and Object Styles.

Hii...it is all default values. Everything was fine when it was revit 2017. The issue started with Revit 2018

@shefypattambi

your current settings means that the lines style at the view are following the " line Styles" and no specific override has been done.

as a final two trials :D,

you can check line weights at scale 1:20 ( the view scale) (check attachment) and see pen 1 thickness at 1:20

or

 check the line type of your component (lines used ) from the property as I have mentioned before , it may be matched to medium line , or wide lines.

Actually the latest Revit I have used is 2017 , and I have not tried 2018 yet .( it may be a bug ,needs service pack , I do not know ) once I will try 2018 , I will test  the issue and contact you.

I wish I would have helped you.

Hi @shefypattambi

Can you share a file to test? I can send you a private folder if you'd like.

Also, send us a journal file to troubleshoot further.

This is just a comparison between the Autocad PDF and Revit PDF printed by using Dopdf printer. You can see the Distortion of rebar in Revit PDF.
