Revit 2017 Element not visible in plan when placing text in drafting view

I'm not sure I "need" a fix for this, but I wanted to post it.

I'm working in a Revit 2017 file created with no template and Imperial Units.

I created a drafting view and placed a piece of text.  As soon as I closed the text element editor, I got an error stating that "None of the created elemets are visible in Floor Plan: Level 1 View."

Again, I'm not sure I need to do anything about the error; I don't expect text I add in drafting views to show up in my floor plan views.  I just thought I would flag the error to see if others could replicate it.

Hello,

Thank you for your report. This is a defect and we have it logged. Let me assure you your file is ok and the only error is that the message has the incorrect view name in it.

Here are the steps.

Open Revit. Leave level 1 plan open and vreate drafting view.

In visibility/graphics turn off text (or all annotations) in the drafting view.

Now place a text in the view. Use the "close" button in the ribbon to finish the text.

Because the text you are finishing is not visible we post a warning. In that basre it says:

"None of the created elements are visible in Floor Plan: Level 1 View. You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings, as well as any Plan Regions and their settings."

It should say this and it is what it is warning you about....just the view name string is incorrect.

"None of the created elements are visible in Drafting View: Drafting 1 View. You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings. "

This only happens for

Text (no others elements have this problem)

Text when using the close button ( if you click on the screen you get the correct message)

if the Floor Plan Level 1 view is open ( if you close that view you get the correct message)

Let me know if does not help,

Steve

There was no missing text. I received the error, but the text was visible in the drafting view. I'm not sure why an error message was issued at all.

I will look and validate what you've said concerning the use of the close button. Thanks.

Was a solution ever found for this? My Revit 2017 is also doing this.

It happens when I use the Close button to exit text editing, but not if I just hit "Escape" and then say "yes" to saving my changes in the resulting dialogue box. This is also happening to others in my office.

Thanks.
