Revit 2017 ADD - IN's not working and the text editor a frustration

Good day people..

Revit 2017 - Win 10.

I am suddenly experiencing a lot of problems with my add-ins and other error messages.  it all started 2 months ago with Navisworks 2017 and today EVERYTHING  is a screw-up.  I could not find a solution for it yet.  I tried to reinstall everything but it still occurs.  I reached a point where I want to through my laptop out the window and go back to the serenity of the old faithful... the drawing board !!!

When is Autdesk releasing SP1 for Revit 2017?  The Text Editor is not working properly and is a huge time wasting feature as it sometimes works in reverse when trying to select and edit.  I am A LOT less productive on 2017 than on 2016.  It is suppose to be better isn't it?!!!

Sorry that you have such issues with Revit 2017. While there are some rough edges in general it is working fine for me.

Ok. Revit 2017 already has some service packs. Looking at mine;

So have a look at updates for Revit.

The error message above are all dealing about add-ins. It seems that relevant files for the add-ins are missing. So I expect something happened while deleting/(un)installing. Try to uninstall/remove all the add-ins from Revit. Then try to work with a clean (updated) Revit for a while to see if most of the issues disappear.

Just for consideration, you can consider to keep working in Revit 2016 for some time. Many companies do not update every year and wait/test before implementing a new version

Thank you Louis.

Yes I suppose everything has its trials...  Unfortunately all my current projects were done on 2017 and one cannot go back to 2016 now.  I can live without the add-in's I guess, but the text editor is driving me nuts!

I will look for the update.  I could not find it on my autodesk subscription account yet but I'll keep searching

And just to add salt to my wounds, my windows now slowed to a complete halt after a 'critical update' as they call it.  I've bee staring at the blue circle of death for almost an hour now!  Even after clean boot and numerous restarts...  Maybe time for a new laptop! Yay!!!

But anyway...

Yeah, if all your projects are in Revit 2017, there is no way back.

Looking at how long it takes to update your windows, maybe it is time for a new computer (or a fresh install)
