Revit 2016 my US imperial and US metric folders are empty.

I had this common libraries not installing problem so I just installed them using control panel - Revit content libraries - add or remove features method.

It said the installation was successful, when I checked, the "US imperial" and "US metric" folders (which I had choosen) are indeed there but they are completely empty.

What can be the problem= and how can I solve it?

Is there any way to just download these two folders manually from somewhere?

I tried all.
Nothing works.
Revit content libraries 2016 doesn't work in no ways.
It won't install properly, then it won't uninstall properly, for the reason it won't uninstall properly, again it won't install properly the next time. It's all frustration.

Can somebody please just upload the dang "us imperial" and "us metric" folders to dropbox or somewhere and send me the link?

This whole thing is nonsense and time consuming. It simply doesn't work.

In my signature there is a Link to Autodesk Virtual Agent... Download the 2 Parts from VA ... Then extract them to the default location.

Once extraction is done... Run the installation and download the Content Libraries only.

What is happening is that your installed is still trying to fetch the content library from the web. So a broken installation will still show that it finished and folders are there however they will be empty... Virtual Agent Download Places all those files on your computer. So you wont have issues when installing

Ok. Instead of trying to download revit2016 again, I just downloaded 2017 so I could see if it installs well. 

I went one by one.

1st I installed the program itself,

than image library, everything went perfectly well, untill the last one, the content libraries ! LOL

It is stuck at the exact point where 2016 content libraries did. (It only succeeded when I ran the install offline, so I ended up with empty libraries for 2016 that was the original problem actually)

Why does it get stuck exactly at that point ?

My internet connection is fine.

Anti-virus disabled

Autocad.com added to trusted sites

The intercafe successfully downloaded and installed everything except the content libraries. May be there's something wrong with the servers where those files are located in?

You would have been better off finishing what you have started rather than experimenting...if you keep on experimenting you will end up needing a clean uninstall before you can get any Autodesk product to intatt successfulllly...and that is not a fun thing to do

Now it starts all over again...

The awkward thing is, it downloaded "some" of the content (137mb of 200-something) before the setup stalled. So there are some content in folders now.

I tried to re-run setup from "install now" but cont. Libr. ticked green as already installed.

So I tried to add/or remove features method from the control panel / programs.
The updating process got stuck right from the beginning. Cancel button didn't work so I had to ctrl-alt-del.

Btw. I am on windows 10 home upgraded from windows 8.1.

Operating system doesn't matter; Revit 2014 to 2016 all run on windows 10 even if not supported (and it runs PERFECTLY FINE...it's where one downloads it from, how one installs it and how one setups windows what matters. (Autodesk support is something else)

Anyhow...as I have said Install Now is not for you. Autodesk uses a 3rd party/partner services (Akamai NetSession) for direct downloads...Unfortunately that service doesn't work for 80% of the users outside US...It is pretty much complicated to explain how it works but thats how it is (even if the download times out and you get 1 file out of 2000, the installer will show a green tick; Hence, the direct download and/or Vertual Agent Workaround...

If you want to install Revit 2017, direct link is available  HERE PART 1 and HERE PART 2 ... If you are still looking for 2016...Virtual Agent is your destination

PS: If you are a student/educator;  you need to enter your serial number and product key which you received via email from ADSK Education Community in order to activate your 3 Years student license

Ok, thanks for the 2017 links. I'd rather keep my new revit and just get rid of 2016.

So now, what do I need to do to solve the library problem after I download these 2 parts? can you please explain step by step.

1- uninstall existing library .. ?
2- ?

When you say "I'd rather keep my new Revit"; I am not really sure what you have there or what installed properly and what didn't (Thats why I asked not to experiment a lot and try sticking to one...I personally lost track of what you have SUCCESSFULLY installed

1. If you downloaded both parts; double click 1 to extarct..and when done instead of installing software just select Add/Remove features.
2. Make sure to check the boxes for all the content you need; including what you have already or partially  

The only difference is that now you have the files on your computure and the installer doesn't need to fetch them from I don't know where via the internet

At the moment I completely removed/uninstalled revit 2016 with all it's extensions etc.

Revit 2017 and extensions are successfully installed except ONLY libraries which I hope will be fixed now as I finished downloading both parts from the links you gave. So let's see...

Awkward, I got an email stating that someone replied to this post asking "did you solve your problem?" but I don't see it here.

Anyways, the answer is not completely. Somehow I have got more than half of the library content installed and I am just trying to work with them.

I downloaded the full setup from the link provided but still the installer seems to need downloading some things from the internet, so the installer keeps staying stuck at the same place till I cut the internet connection.

Shortly nothing changed except as I said now I have most of the content (foundations and stuff) but not all of them. When opening a new project file I can't find the architectural template so I use construction template etc.

The whole concept of revit families, material libraries and content libraries, working templates is already complicated enough by itself, and when there are missing things, it gets even more complicated. I think revit needs a more user friendly interface in these terms for future versions. Even loading materials and families in to a project is complicated I go totally random by instincts while I'm working. Well, that's another issue of course, it's about learning how to use the software which I could figure out easier if everything were installed smoothly and completely.

We've recently identified a sporadic issue that will result in content not being installed via the Revit LT 2017 web installer. After our investigation, we found that a required content file is not always included in the extracted files and its absence results in the installation bypassing Revit content files. We are investigating the root cause of this problem and hope to have a resolution in place soon. Until then, the following steps will allow you to work around this issue:

1. From this post, download the Revit_2017_MasterXML.zip file and extract the contents to a local folder.
2. Download and run the Revit LT 2017 web installer, Revit_LT_2017_G1_Win_64bit_wi_en-US_Setup.exe.
3. When the initial Autodesk Revit LT dialog is displayed, click Cancel.
4. Copy the master.rlt.xml file that was extracted in step 1 and paste it into the C:\Autodesk\WI\Autodesk Revit LT 2017\Content\Revit folder.
5. Launch the Revit LT 2017 installer using the Revit_LT_2017_G1_Win_64bit_wi_en-US_Setup_webinstall.exe that should reside in your Downloads folder or the folder to which the original Revit_LT_2017_G1_Win_64bit_wi_en-US_Setup.exe was downloaded.
6. Step through the installation and when you get to the product selection page, expand the Revit LT 2017 Content Libraries entry and verify that the list of content packs is populated and at least one of the underlying option is selected.
7. Collapse the Revit LT 2017 Content Libraries entry and click Install.

At this point, we've only seen this problem occur with the Revit LT 2017 web installer but based on the numerous reports of Revit content installation problems, a similar problem may impact other Revit versions, including previous releases. For this reason, I've attached zip files that contain the master XML files for each version of Revit 2015, 2016, and 2017. Once the appropriate master XML file is extracted and copied to the appropriate ...\Content\Revit folder, the installation of Revit content should complete successfully.

I donwloaded the XML file via the link you provided but I'm not sure what you mean by Web Installer ?

Does that mean I have to uninstall the one I have already then download online ?
