Revit 2015 lt on Windows 10 Home

Hello,

I have seen some similar posts, but none that directly answer this question.  Can Revit 2015 LT be installed onto Windows 10 Home.  I am thinking of purchasing a perpetual license of the program, but want to make sure it will run on my machine before I do.

Thank you

I know someone that has installed 2014-2017 on his Windows 10 computer...but it was Windows 10 Pro.  Not sure if Windows 10 Home will work as it is not supported for 2017 at all vs earlier releases that supported Home Premium.

Here is an issue though, the Perpetual license program for everything but Building Design/Infrastructure Suites ended April 1st.  The BD/IS suites end in July.

So Revit LT 2015 will only be available if you purchase 2017 and get the previous entitlements.

My suggestion though will be to stick with Windows 7, if you are able to get 2015 only.

I purcased a new HP laptop at the same time as I purchased REVIT LITE.

New PC only come with W10 so I went ahead and have not encountered any issues,

The PC I bought does not meet the specs published for REVIT however I believe the high end specs really are only required for the full REVIT version.

Officially it is not compatible/supported on Windows 10 BUT it should be possible to install and run 2015LT on Windows 10... Installation of older Revit versions on Windows 10 could be a bumpy road when it comes to the peripheral apps which come along with Revit (not Revit itself) but once you manage the installation set the adequate screen scaling and screen resolution, it should run with no isses at all. I have Revit 2014 and 2016 as well as Autocad 2007 running perfectly ok on windows 10.

However;

  1. do download it from Autodesk Virtual Agent (link below)
  2. if you encounter an error or something fails to install, come back to the forum and ask (do not go by trial and error...you might end up needing a clean uninstall and Autodesk products are quite messy when it come to cleaning them up from windows 10.

(it would be advisable to upgrade to 10 Pro, which has the option to even install and run legacy software which date back to the 16bit erra)

Thank you very much.  That is really helpful.  With the HP computer you purchased running Revit LT, is it Windows 10 Home you are running, or the Pro version?
