Revit 2015 Has No Family Templates Files Installed

Ok,

So I have seen similar posts on here and followed all the various steps mentioned and still nothing changes. When we install Revit LT and looking in the family Library no family files (.rfa) are present. The UK folder is there but its empty.

We have tried every troubleshooting option found on the internet and each time we end up in the same position.

I suspect it maybe something to do with my companies firewall but without knowing the location the installation programme goes to download the files I cant get our IT department to solve the issue.

Any thoughts? Alternatively, if anyone knows any sites where I can download the content and drop it into the folder that would also be really helpful.

Thanks

James

Hi @Anonymous,

Just a couple of clarifying questions:

  • Is it possible for you to try the method described by @sureshchotrani with the firewall, antivirus, and windows UAB disabled?
  • Are you seeing the content libraries availble for uninstall as shown?
  • When you choose to 'show hidden files' were the content libraries listed anywhere?
  • Where there any error message displayed when installing?

If you have tried all of this I would recommend performing a clean uninstall and reinstallation using the virtual agent.

Hi Matt

Sorry its taken a while to reply. We have finally got to the bottom of the issue. We didnt have the necessary permissions to download the files when installing Revit.

Our IT department logged onto my computer and installed it and everything is now present.

Thanks for your help
