Hi all,
why I can not see real representation of what is modeled. Why stairs by components uses 2d lines to represent stair in plans?

Hi,
Can you please attach a picture of what you are seeing? The representation looks fine on my end.
Thank you for sending the images.
Stair 1: Did you modify the component stair? If you want to design a stair I would suggest using the "stair by sketch". That could be the reason why the notch is not being represented in floor plan.
Regarding the other "step" lines, there is no reason why they should show if there is no "step - riser" in the stair it self unless you have converted the component stairs and are using diferent materials.
Please upload your file so I can understand how you created the stairs.
It was made in revit 2013 - stairs by component. I was very happy to have those new possibilities but as I can see now it's not working like it should. Sometimes I have feelings that Autodesk programmers are a little bit disconnected with reality - especially building site. It seems that they never have to prepare any single drawing for real building site.

Please upload your file so I can test it, document it and report our findings to our development team so they can work on a fix.
Thank you,
I'm now in Revit 2016 and I seem to have the same issue controlling the notch and how it projected in planview. The plan view of my stairs seems to be showing the underside of the stairs and not the actual top gap of the stairs and landings. The notch (100mm in this case) is added to the thread depth rather than keeping the actual thread depth and letting the notch 'bite' into the underside of the stairs.
i hope you can help me out here. it's a great frustration.
