Revision schedule and index schedule

Hi guys,

We used the revision schedule as a mean to record and track project movements, including all important date, issues, and drawing changes, etc...utilizing "per sheet" setting and, thanks to Pyrevit for their app.

Given that, not all drawings has the same drawing revisions, but all have the same issue dates and milestone dates (for legal and financial purpose).

I noticed the only relationship between the index schedule and the revision schedule is the "include in Index" tick box.

Unlike other firms, we didn't bother having issue date checkboxes in the index, and normally just keep a master index even though we don't issue all the listed sheet. (Yes, we do ignore plancheckers request for updating the index until the permit set).

At this permit set, for the shake of recording, we would like to have the index then now reflecting all of that, but so far we only look at the particular sheet revision schedule to check the record, if something comes up, like when we have changed consultants, or when we change design direction, etc...

Is there a way to connect the revisions schedule back to the index (at permit stage) ? We have thought of this using two separate indexes, one for progressing and one for final.

I understand that you are interested in making a schedule that shows a history of your revisions, showing what sheets have been submitted in each revision. Please correct me if I'm wrong. If I am right: I think Revit does not have that connection yet, between revisions and sheets. Some time ago, I needed a full revision history of every submission and the solution was to use an add-in, called CTC Software, which did the job that we needed.
