Restoring Revit Version to current one

I know from the Revit Support that i can restore to a previous version a Revit project. Once i select a certain version and decide to restore it back to that date, can i "restore" it back to the current one? Or am i only able to restore to past versions and all the following changes are lost?

As in: i need a version of the current model from March: if i restore it to that date, will i be able to restore it back to the "october" version?

Depends on the number of backups you set to the model.  Technically if you set it enough to go back to March then you can restore a March version.  Remember each time you save you create a backup, and when the maximum number is reached, new backups will overwrite the old ones.

My understanding is that it doesn't do anything to your current save. So if you just need to go back to reference something or print some sheets from that previous version, you can do so without changing your current model. You can Save As the old version to "Blah Blah Project -March 2022" if you want to hang on to it without going through the restore process again.

yeah, i need the ifc model from the march version, of course without losing the progress i've made in the past few months; so i wanted to go back to the march version, save the model on local (as it's a Cloud project), and then go back to the current one.

Are you doing this through Autodesk Docs?

my project is Cloud-based, so i can see all these versions (that i suppose correspond to when i have synchronized the model with central)

i know i can go back to older ones, but will that "delete" all the following ones? as in i can only "travel" to the past and not come back to the current one?

I am able to see the past versions through "manage Cloud model" since its a Cloud-based project. The number of versions i can see from the Docs page on Construction Cloud are far less (for some reason?) than the number of versions i see from looking them up from Revit itself.

That is true. The old version cannot "see" the future.

Hm. Through Autodesk Docs you can specify whether to restore to an older version or simply open an older version.

i am only able to save the version, copy it or mark it as the current one (maybe because im not full admin on the cloud?) i might just download the version and save it on my local pc

i see, well, i'll see if i can make a copy of the model and try to restore older version from that one, thank you!
