Report Manhole Cover Level or Invert level in schedule

Hi there,

I was trying to create a manhole schedule whereby the cover and or invert level of the manhole would be reported (and would obviously update automatically if the manhole location changed/cover level changed in the model).

I’ve shared parameters created for the manhole length and width in plan and the overall depth from cover to invert level which I’ve successfully reported in said schedule. But cant get my head around how to report the cover or invert levels as of yet.

Hopefully someone here can shed some light on this. See attached MH chamber family in rvt 2019 format.

I'm not quite clear. Are you saying you want to schedule the LC-D400 MH Cover Properties in addition to the PJH_MH Chamber Properties?  If so, the the LC-D400 MH Cover needs to be a Shared Family. 

...and, of course. the Family Category of the Cover would need to be changed to Plumbing Fixtures to report in the same Schedule as the Chamber...

or, no; I have your issue all wrong?  oh well.   😉

Hi Barth,

What i want to do is create a schedule that would look identical more or less that attached below where i can display the cover level in meters above Ordinance Datum (mOD). I get your point about the cover needing to be a plumbing fixtures family category.  What do you mean by the MH cover needing to be a shared family though??

A Nested Family can be Shared, by checking the "Shared" box in the Nested Family's Properties.  By doing so, the nested Family will report in Project Schedules.  Does that answer the question?

How I would approach this is to create shared parameter length that offset your family upward.

When you load into your family. You set the sea level elevation to constant 0. Place the family in that level and then offset the level. This will become your elevation point and you can create formula to calculate your invert level.

Well, if the OP Shares the Cover Family, he already has the Invert via the "Elevation from Level" Parameter Field. No?
