Relocate Portion of Project

I have a home with a detached garage. The client changed the location of the garage but not the home. I would like to move the location without the need to have to rebuild the whole garage. I tried to relocate the project but it moved everything. Is there a way to move a portion? (Yes, I did try the typical select all and Move but with an onslaught of errors and warnings.)

It is a Garage of a house, I think remodeling is faster; however,

Step 1

  • Save "Project House"  AS a new file >>> name it "Garage"
  • Split, Delete and Clean up everything which is not related to the garage
  • Save and close

Step 2

  • Open "Project House"
  • Do the opposite of what you did above (delete everything related to Garage)
  • Link RVT file "Garage"
  • Drag/move/rotate it to set in the new location
  • Bind the Linked "Garage" (ungroup it or keep it grouped up to you)

The End

It's a detached garage?  What's preventing you from just moving it?  You could probably Group it and move it as a unit and then Ungroup it.

Still curious why you couldn't just move it.  Seems odd that it would be such a feat.

Step 1:

Step 2:  Wipe the sweat from your brow and have a cold one.
