referenced PME file visibility issues

I have a PME consultant's file referenced into mine, and 1st floor ductwork is showing up in my 3rd floor RCP (as well as 2nd floor RCP).  The ductwork is modeled in the right place, so any idea why this would be happening?  I've tried playing with the view range to no avail.

Is the View Discipline set correctly?

I've tried Coordination, Architectural, and Mechanical, but it doesn't change what ductwork and pipes are showing up in the view.

Are you sure it's aligned properly.  Post the files. Let's see what's going on.

Change your detail from course to fine. See if the duct show up. Often the duct in course view won't show anything.

it'll show a symbolic line/stick symbol in course view.

What about underlays. Got any?

...what a minute. I'm getting side-tracked here. I thought the issue is that the duct work in showing on the wrong level.

Can you tell me what View's Associated Levels are? Under the View Properties.

...and View Range Settings.

The detail level is set to fine.  They are showing up full dimension (not line drawings).  The issue is that the same ducts (1st floor) are showing up on all three floors.  The PME model is in the right position, as when I cut in section I can see it.

I wish I could, except our company's privacy policy wouldn't allow.

Associated levels are correct (2nd floor for 2nd floor RCP, 3rd floor for 3rd RCP, etc.) - View ranges are set in a way that shouldn't include the 1st floor ductwork.  Quite the puzzle!

Do you have link to view set for PME model? Sometimes I encounter users placed in RCP to show consultant MEP model but they reference to Level 1. So upper level may show the same layout as Level 1.

Is the consultant's file a CAD file?

It's currently set to *Custom, <None> for linked view.  See attached image.

Guess what, you got it!!!  I checked the linked view display settings under the 2nd list item (which I still don't understand why it puts it in there twice).  I changed it from 1st floor mech RCP to None.  Thank you!

Boy, this is a booger. So, alignment is NOT the issue? You've checked the Linked Levels Elevation View?
