Revit's Rendering Engine is pretty darn impressive. But like with anything, GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out). It's really more about the Materials and Assets used. If you really want to improve your Renderings, use PBR (Physically Based Rendering) Assets. I would encourage you to research PBR. There's a boatload of information on the subject just a keyword search away. I think you will be amazed.
