Rainscreen cladding

I'm putting stone raincladding into a building I'm doing for a college assignment but the problem I'm having is putting insulation behind the cladding between the support bracket. I am wondering how do I do this ?

Can you describe your workflow of creating the rainscreen?

Which tool are you using to create the rainscreen? Different tools have different solutions. Normally you can  build the rainscreen, insulation/support, and membrane layers in the exterior wall assembly.

Sorry about that I'm using it in curtain wall, I didn't know you could do it was exterior wall I wanted to do it like that but I could find the the cladding support, Horiztonal Andy vertical rail system families

1. Using curtain wall is fine, too.  It's easier to create the support grid using mullions.  Create a curtain panel family, offset the panel plane, and extend the edges to overlap the mullions for butt joint or lap joint conditions.  Downside is that you have to manually coordinate the fenestration.

2. Using wall assembly layers simplifies coordinating location and fenestration. You create an Air layer as the placeholder for the support grid. You can either use details to convey the support information, or model it by non embedded curtain mullion, or structural framing using custom members.

For option 2 above, you can create a sweep profile of the support channel/clip, and build it inside the wall assembly. Offset it properly so it sits behind the rainscreen layer.

P/s: i should have edited the post above but i am on mobile and it's a pain in the rear editing post, so alas.

Ya okay thanks, that's the trouble I'm having is actually making the sweep for the clip attachment for the cladding

Normally I don't model the clips and let the details take care of them.  But since you wanted it so see the attached file.
