I cannot get a railing to host to a stair stringer, so that the start and end posts (as balusters, with cut angles in the family), and balusters sit on top of the stringer and change/adapt to to changes to the angle of the stair run as it's being developed. The post as balusters and balusters will only host to an imaginary line drawn to the leading edge of the tread nosing. I've tried every possible trouble shoot I can think of... and I'm stumped... when I create a new stair from scratch, I set the railing to stringer, not tread. In the railing family, the base is set to host. But there's way I can discern what the host is - the tread or stringer? I can't change the railing host to specifically select the stringer.
With the base set to host, the bottom edge of the balusters is not cut at the angle of the stairs, it's square, as if it's sitting on the tread.
In the screen shot, I'm showing the stringer as a C-Shape, and you can see that the posts/balusters extend below the top flange to the tread line.
Thoughts, please? TIA
