Railing corner connection problem

I'm trying to create a railing on a staircase but the corners are not connecting.

But if I turn on the 'Top Rail' then the top rail is connecting the corners.

This results in 2 railings, both almost in the same place, one connecting the corners and the second not connecting the corners. However I want only one railing that connects the corners. I have tried already all the different settings at the joints and corners but nothing changes...

Is there maybe a way to have/show only the top rail? (Because this would solve my problem)

To only have the top rail you can edit the railing type delete the other rail under rail structure, and ofcourse have top rail checked.

I didn't know/didn't think you could delete the 'main rail'.

Thanks for the solution!

FWIW, @Laura_POLO : I notice in your screenshot, that there is No Connector at Angled Joins.  Is this by design?
