Greetings. My company is experimenting with interoperability between Revit and Inventor. Our experience with the feature has been clunky. I see videos such as this one that present the tool in a way where both applications are open, and when you save in one app it triggers an update in another. This works fine when I save+export the updated .rvt file from inventor. I can simply click the "reload" button on the linked document in my main revit file and I'll receive the updates. However, if I make a change to the revit model and save it, saving fails if the inventor assembly linking it is currently open. I have to close inventor, save the revit file, reopen the inventor file, and get the updates. Is this normal? It doesn't seem normal. Am I doing something wrong? We're not using vault, so it's possible that's the difference I'm seeing.
