I am getting an error message saying "Failed to get a valid boundary from the input points." when I import my CSV file into Revit. I have the appropriate x,y,z values that are needed. I'm sure I'm missing something just not sure what it would be.

You have an issue with the units. Revit will interpret this as if all the points under the first column orbit around the same point, with tiny variations of fractions of a unit. The same for the second column.

Yeah I think I am missing a step. I need access to QGIS to convert the longitude and latitude data to something different. But, unfortunately, my company has that blocked so I will have to do it at home. Do you know of another way to do this?

Even if the base unit is meters those values wouldn't create a topography any bigger than a meter because they are all at the same x/y with the only variation in the fractions of a meter?

I created a path on Google Earth and then saved the path as a .kml I then used GPS visualizer to extract elevation data from it and created a plain text file. From there I added data to excel and saved as .csv. The path is definitely more than a meter long. The points are close together but they run basically the length of a golf course.

It's longitude and latitude data not a measurement.

Revit creates points at those coordinate values and since they all are 38.5 and 86.6 you'll just end up with pile of points in one spot. They don't describe a path. You'd need values that were further apart to describe a path, especially if it is a long path on a golf course. Revit needs a coordinate values relative to an origin. The info you have would help you find it in Google Maps but not generate topo.

How to Export Topography from Google Eart to Revit Architecture 2020 (youtube.com) This is the link I was trying to follow if that helps at all. Understand it's an older video but was just seeing if I could do it.

It looks like you're missing the process they demonstrate beginning at 4:20 where they do some further conversion to create new coordinate values. You'll see they end up with two new columns of larger values.

Yeah I'm trying that but can't get the numbers to be any bigger. I'll keep trying, thanks.

It probably has to do with the different choices they make during that section. If you don't understand the various options in the dialog it will be difficult to make the correct choices for your site's location. For example, at one point a choice made shows up on a map of the USA and shows a highlighted portion to indicate where it is focused.
