"Create Plan View" not checked by default

Hi, everyone,

I open an Elevation View, then the Level Tool to create a new Level. But when I do it, the "Create Plan View" Box is not checked by default (as it was in previous versions). Therefore the new Plan View won't show in the Project Browser. I am using Revit 2025. I would like to know how to make this box checked by default again.

Thank You for any advice!

While creating a level check the Create Plan View box. Next time you create a level, it will be clicked by default.

To create a plan view for the one you created without plan view: View -> Plan Views and click the level name OK. It will have a plan view.

Hi,

Thanks for your interest in my message. Yes, I have already tried what you say. But what I really want is the Create Plan View option to be activated by default as in previous versions of Revit. I don't want to check that box everytime I create a new Level.

I don't know if this is a problem in my Revit installation, or if it is a new feature coming with the 2025 release. Should I uninstall and reinstall Revit in my PC?

Have a nice day!

When open the model and while adding a level first time, I click the box. IF I add second level the box comes as checked.

But if you ask about the first time, yes it comes as unchecked. I don't know if there is a setting for this one.

This is an annoying new feature. Why after 20 years of good use this has been changed makes no sense, I expect we all agree that it should be on by default, currently it is a time waster. Let's hope it gets changed back to the more productive create a floor plan option by default.
