"cant keep wall and target joined"

I am following a Revit tutorial book and just made this roof dormer. I was told in the book to attach the wall to the roof...simple enough. However I get this message every time I try to attach it. Know any suggestions? Thanks!

Would have to look at the file, but it's a pretty common error. But you know, you could create that eyebrow in the roof sketch instead of modeling it as a separate roof and cutting dormer opening.  Interested?  

BTW: You can post your file here as an Attachment to a reply Post.  Be happy to examine it and tell you why you are getting that error.

Split the wall in the middle (where the peak of the dormer is) and attach the two walls to the roof.

if this is about attaching walls to roof, a monolithic roof (like I am showing above and here) would make it so much easier too.

Thank you guys for the response. It is a singular roof, as the attachment photo shows. I tried splitting the wall and it worked fine on one side but not the other. The other side got the same message. Along with the photo, I've attached a copy of the project for anyone to look at. Thanks!

After my reply, I started tinkering with the wall and found that it was just too long I think. I shortened the wall, attached to top of roof, then moved the wall back to where I wanted it and it was all good!

Selecting the Wall and using Clipboard Cut and Paste Aligned to Same Place also worked for me.  Replacement Wall attaches perfectly after that.
