Profile sweep with detail component showing selectively backwards in a few sections

I have a detail component nested inside a wall sweep so that it appears in my section views. For most of my sections and details, this sweep shows correctly. However, on one few (as shown below), the detail component is showing backwards... I had this happen previously about a week ago and the way I resolved it was by redrawing the wall entirely and reinserting the wall sweep (which may tell me that it doesn't have anything to do with the wall sweep but rather how the wall is modeled/what other elements are associated to the wall inside the model)... The part that is strange to me is that it shows correctly on most walls, just a few walls, it wants to reverse the detail component backwards no matter if I lock the detail component inside the profile family to the respective reference planes...

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I've attached the profile family with the nested detail component for reference.

Is it built into the Wall Assembly?  

I'd like to examine the file that this is happening in.  Can you post that?

Bet you a buck that if you get rid of this angle dimension, it won't spaz out on you.  Beyond that, I'm frankly surprised it works at all.  I wouldn't build it this way.

I don't disagree with you. I am still learning the Revit family interface and best practices. I did try removing the angle from the detail component family but even after loading, it did not resolve the issue on my end...

So I started doing some dimensioning in plan and noticed that some of the walls weren't perfectly perpendicular to the walls that they were adjoining to - it was hard to find a screencapture for this but the angle was like 54.01°.... After re-aligning, the wall sweep and detail component showed correctly in section.

I guess it shows the importance of making sure your walls are being modeled perpendicular and in angle increments that are consistent. This may also have had something to do with the section not being perfectly modeled in plan so perhaps the section cut itself may have been slightly off too....

Thank you for the feedback on the detail component and wall sweep profile family. I know that I need still some development in that area - and Revit family building best practices in general.

So, I've been using this technique for a little while. I built a bunch of wood stud walls with embedded wood sill and top plates. I think I started with a new template and all brand new walls in R2020. Everything worked perfectly until I upgraded my template to R2021 and now R2022.

So if the wall is in the "correct" direction relative the cut it shows the detail correctly, if not it flips it the other way. Flipping the wall and mirror does not correct the issue. Especially if the wall has a front and back side you often needing facing a particular way relative to the space.

So, I wonder if 2021 broke this association somehow. It seemed like a really good idea when I started down this road. I've used embedded detail components in wall sweeps for years now. Just not embedded in wall types like I am trying now. 

Ultimately I was hoping to save a lot of time in residential plan sets not having to add those pesky wood plates on all my wall sections. I really wish Autodesk will solve this problem, or someone out there has a solution.

I'd like to add that this problem is happening with me as well. Model was started in 2020 and upgraded to 2022. In my case, it gets even more ridiculous: I am working with a colleague on the same project using BIM360, and on my screen, everything is showing how you would expect, and on his screen, half of the wall sweeps (a top plate for fnd. walls) is appearing flipped about the exterior side of concrete, see image.

To reiterate, no visual issue on my screen, ever, and no amount of flipping/mirroring/redrawing on his computer fixes this issue on his screen.

Just had this same problem, and this is what solved it for me: when setting up the section view, DO NOT mirror de view. Draw it in the direction you want it facing from the get-go. Whenever I mirror the view, it's when the detail portion of the wall sweep mirrors. Hope this helps some users.
