Problem with Spot Elevation System Family

Hello, I have created a new Spot Elevation Family that will rotate on the sheet in order to remain parallel with the rotated plan. The problem is that the TEXT portion of the Spot Elevation System Family does NOT allow me to rotate other than vertical and horizontal. I know there is a long-standing debate/drawing precedent that text should ALWAYS be horizontal on the sheet for legibility, but we have a situation where it's really unavoidable. I would like to think that Revit would have the flexibility to accomodate this unique situation. Please see attached screen shot showing the rotated Spot Elevation Tag with incorrect text positioning. Cheers, Ryland

I can think of two easy ways do that -

  1. one way would be to tick off leaders and rotate crosshair and text to the angel (You will say this is tedious)
  2. second way is to creat a duplicate view (detailed/dependent to your own preference); select the crop region (enable it in properties if its not - you may disable it later)  >>> rotate the crop view to the desired elevation angle (in the example I used 15 degrees) >> > start spot elevation >>> on the command option bar untick "Shoulder" >> place spot elevation you get the below result (text parallel to elevation)

Thanks, RDA. To clarify, Option 1 still does NOT work. (The text rotation is fixed to either a vertical or horizontal position). Option 2 does work and I will move forward with that for now.

Thanks again for the quick reply.
