Problem with Space and Zone placement over linked models

There are three phases in original linked models. Current phase is 'new construction', which is mapped with 'On site' phase in linked model. The linked model is checked as 'room bounding'. Linked model set to 'overlay' or 'attachment' has no effect. When I press 'highlight boundaries', it highlights the walls of the linked model, but it does not allow me to place within them. Any clues as to how to place Space and Zone in this situation?

Check your Level's Computational Height .

I've done this. I am at 'level 2' of the model. The linked model starts at 'level 2' and continues for 11'. The 'Space' is set to tag 'upper limit: level 2' 'offset 4'' which should work for every wall type in the link. I figured maybe upper limit meant 'top constraint'. so I set to it to level 2. still no results. I set 'base offset' to 3'. Still no results. 

 

Care to examine the model?

Does this work? First folder has host, linked files are in 'library' folder.

I can place Spaces on Level 2 referencing CR001-002-v3.5 Link by bumping up Level 2's Computational Height to 1'-0".

@Anonymous: if Computational Height of the Level is less than 10", it breaks the Spaces.  I think this is your clue.  I believe the 10" negative offsets of the exterior walls in the link is related to it.  Or, maybe not.  Some place to start though. Or, just use the 10" C.H.

Your Level 2 is 10.25" below the finish floor (.25" is the layer of finish added on top of the floor and they set it to room bounding).  You can just move the level up 10.25" and keep the computational height at 0.

Well, there you go.  In that case, I'd keep the Computational Height at 10". It's dead on ballz accurate.  Not a fudge at all.
