Hi!

I tried to install Revit 2026, but I receive the following message:

Cannot install Revit 2026.png

Any suggestion to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

Did you unzip the downloaded folder?

Looks like a pre-releaese version of AutoCAD has not been uninstalled - it may cause conflict with your Revit installation.

There is an issue updating the Autodesk Interoperability Engine Manager package, which based on your image was installed as part of the AutoCAD 2025 release candidate.  The root cause of this problem is not clear but I would recommend uninstalling the current version of Autodesk Interoperability Engine Manager and then attempting the Revit 2026 installation again.

This package is not exposed in the traditional add/remove programs or apps & features interface but the following steps should allow you to uninstall the current version of Autodesk Interoperability Engine Manager.

  1. Open Registry Editor and navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall key.
  2. Use the Find command to locate the GUID associated with Autodesk Interoperability Engine Manager.
  3. Copy the UninstallString value.
  4. Open a Command Prompt, paste the UninstallString value, and press ENTER.
  5. When prompted if you are sure you want to uninstall this product, click Yes.

This generates another failed message that appears to be looking for some .MSI in a Temp folder (that file doesn't exist in the Temp folder) - see attached.  Any other solutions?

The new image indicates that the problem remains related to the Autodesk Interoperability Engine Manager installation. The root cause is unclear so my suggestion would be to use the Autodesk Installation Log Collection Tool, https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-Use-the-Log..., to collect the logs from your recent installation attempts. If you can post the resulting zip file, we can review the logs and try to identify the cause and a solution.

Thank You very much for your help. I could finally uninstall the old version of the Autodesk Interoperability Manager, and the traces of the AutoCAD Beta version dissapeared. I installed the new version of the AIM and then I could install Revit 2026.

Thanks for the quick reply.  The resulting .zip file is too large to attach here - max is 71MB, zip is 164MB.  Found a thread from last year that suggested using the Windows fix it tool and it shows 2 installations of AIEM:

That is certainly strange and may be the root cause of your install issue.  I recommend using Windows uninstaller to remove both of the listed versions and then attempt the Revit 2026 installation again.  This should produce a clean system with the latest version of the Interoperability Engine Manager.

I would do this in addition to the above before you attempt a new installation:

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-Complete-a-...

Revit Version: R2026.2
Hardware: i9 14900K, 64GB, Nvidia RTX 2000 Ada 16GB
Add-ins: ElumTools; Ripple-HVAC; ElectroBIM; Qbitec

Thanks Anthony, after running the microsoft fix-it tool and "uninstalling" the first AIEM in the list and rebooting I was able to install Revit 2026 up to 97% before I got the error below.  I was able to dismiss it and start Revit 2026 without any additional errors so I'm going to see how it goes.

Thanks again!

It appears that there was a problem installing the Revit Personal Accelerator, which is not a required component and that explains why the install was allowed to complete.  Revit Personal Accelerator is designed to optimize performance when working on Revit Cloud Models, which may be helpful.  If so, I would recommend downloading the latest version for the Autodesk accounts portal and installing it.  If you continue to experience problems with this install, we can continue our investigation.
