Problem while "wall by face" on Mass

Good morning all

i have a small problem while creating wall by face

We have a new Horse track which the shape of "Oval.

The revit cant draw Oval wall type so as you know it should be done on Mass then using Wall by face option

On the attachement you can see 2 oval 

The small black oval shape it was create smoothly and the wall on face worked fine, for that the wall was created, and this is the small wall of the oval track.

Now to the second big oval size, and you can see it is giving me errors and wall by face is not applying.

can anyone help me figure this out please ?

most of my work is HVAC but since the Archi enginner is not available so i have to do it.

From the screenshot it is not clear what you have done and what is happening, so little to go on what might be the cause.

You are correct that creating an oval wall can be done by wall by face and then to a surface of a mass.

Try to create a new in-place oval mass and try wall by face again.

Otherwise upload this part of your project so we can have look at it.

-350x589 wall.rfa [This is the small oval wall side - NO PROBLEM AT ALL]

-362x604 wall.rfa [ This is the bigger oval wall where it wont do the wall]

The revit am using is 2016

Weird. I see the same behaviour. It tried creating new masses and find the same. Looks like a bug or some upper limit

When I tried to divide the ellipse in 4 parts, the wall by face worked. Then it is a matter of mirroring/rotating the 4 parts.

I hope that will be acceptable for your project.

i have you to thank for this idea, but hope Autodesk shall fix the original problem as well.

another thing, i attached 2 pictures, one of them showing the roof, now since this Oval wall is not really a wall [except create wall by face]

it seems that i cant make a roof on it, any idea how can i acheive it ?

Same Pricinciple? Create Mass and Roof by Face.

However also take into consideration how things will be build in real life. Will it be this smooth oval or will it be segmented.

It is not really improtant and it wont affect any thing in the project.

am an HVAC guy and i need to insert my Package units and cool the area.
