I have a family with several thousand instances in the model, ive made an edit and trying to load it back into the model and even after 8 hours it stays stuck at '75% Load Family: Regenerating'. So i just crashed Revit out because others need to work in the model.
I set the worksets the families are on to editable, and closed any they arent on.
Do i really have to let it run more than 8 hours to load this family? what are my options here to make this change? Im open to any API solutions as well.
My only other thought is to make a new family and then update the instances to the new family in batches. I have an API script that can switch the family out and attempts to reupdate all the parameters to try and preserve its previous state but was trying to avoid this cause of the large instance count.
