Printing problems for PDF file from Imported CAD file on Revit Sheet

Hi All,

We imported AutoCAD file on Revit project. Created views on Revit that shows DWG information. Created Sheet with DWG view.  Printed on PDF format, but it takes long time to be printed. The PDF is 955KB. Although it can be opened in a PDF software some of the text from CAD file is missing and it can not be printed. It just gives a blank page.

Any suggestion? Please

Thanks for posting!

What version of revit are you using?

Where did this DWG come from?

My first suggestion would be to look into the DWG and see if there is a pattern with the text that isn't showing.  Like they are all Multi line leaders or something like that. Also, some text or annotation blocks have trouble when coming into revit, so using the Burst command in ACAD can often simplify the element enough so Revit can read it OK.

Thanks!

Hi @anavarro_RAU

Thanks for posting on our forum! Welcome to the Autodesk community!Smiley Happy

As the first step, make sure that the issue you are seeing is not something already fixed in one of the product updates, I would suggest checking the Desktop App to see if there are any Revit updates available. For information on using the Desktop App see the following article: About the Autodesk Desktop App

Note: If you are not able to download updates through the Desktop App, the following article has information on downloading updates through the Autodesk Accounts page: Install Updates, Add-ons, and Enhancements

See the article HERE for Slow printing from Revit in certain views/sheets.

Let me know if any of the above recommendations help resolve your issue.

Please mark this response as "Accept as Solution" if it answers your question. Kudos gladly accepted.

Nicolas,

Thank you for your replay. Sorry I replay you now but I have been trying different thinks, and I got the conclusion that the best solution is explode block. It is not the ideal solution but it allows to print the PDF fines with all text.

Best regards,

Adrian

Hi @anavarro_RAU

Can you share a file with you to troubleshoot further? I can share a private folder with you to upload.

Looking forward to your reply update.

Thanks,

 Viveka,

Thanks for your offer, the main problem with the files are that we are creating a residential housing with two house types model with Revit, we were in a tender state and the deadline was close when we decided  move to AutoCAD, because there were some CAD drawing done. Creating blocks for ground, first, second floor and roof plan House Type A & B it was very quit to get the drawing for the deadline. But as all details where drawn in Revit and to have everything coordinated, we kept using Revit. Inserting a  CAD  Link that allows uprating the changes. Everything looked fine, but the problem  came when we PDF this sheets from Revit with dwg. files with blocks in.

PS: I could share in private the files. Which are the files that you need Revit, CAD or PDF?

Regards

Adrian

Hi @anavarro_RAU

I'm checking back to see if you had a chance to upload the files.

We would require both Revit and CAD files.

Let me know if you had trouble accessing the folder. Looking forward to your reply update.

Hi Viveka,

Please find attached Revit and CAD files.

We have printing problems on GAP plans for BLOCK 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 & 9 sheets. For example: Next sheet is the one that gives more problems:

BLOCK 1 - GAP-1100 -GROUND FLOOR PLAN AND FIRST FLOOR PLAN

Once you get these files. Could you please delete them from this message? or let me know to delete them.

Thanks for your help.
