Printing pdf

Hello Community,

We are trying to print a set of drawings from Revit to pdf and the outcome is superlight!!!

We have printed the same drawings on our normal printers and the lines are much more readable.

What is the problem here?

We are using default adobe settings, is there anything we can adjust here to match the outcome from the printer with adobe???

Many thanks in advance!!!

Hi @BIMadmin

Hope you are well.

What PDF Printer are you using? I've used PDFCreator or PDF Architect for ages now without any issues. (The free downloads/versions would suffice for now)... CutePDF is also an option.

If you possibly changed your Print Setup to Raster Processing opposed to Vector Processing, that might be your problem. I've noticed that Raster Processing prints "lighter" from workstation to workstation or from one PDF Printer to another etc...

I hope this helps! Smiley Happy

We are using Adobe Pro.

We want to print shadows and depth queing, therefore Revit automatically swap to Raster.

We have tried two things:

First Option:

Turn off shadows and depth queing, therefore we can print vectors but then the outcome is super dark!, a lot darker than when we use our printer.

Second Option:

We keep shadows and depth queing, the outcome is all the line super thin and light!!!

Why??? and how can we solve this???

@BIMadmin, did you possibly check the box under the Print Setup just above "OK" to Replace halftone with thin lines?

Also, THIS POST might be helpful. Just out of interest sake, have you tried another PDF Printer other than Adobe Pro?
