Print Design Options faster

I have a drawing set that utilizes a few different view templates. When I want to print the set using a specific design option, I have to update Design Options override in each VT and then print the set. This gets to be rather annoying and I am trying to figure out a way to print design options without having to manually change each VT.

Is it possible to disable the view filter that gets applied in a specific design option that causes elements not in the set to be Greyed out? This would enable me to make a global change to the chosen option using the dropdown at the bottom of the screen and iterate through prints that way.

Are you using Dedicated Views? Doesn't sound like it.

Dedicated Views are an integral part of the Design Option Workflow.

Absolutely!  Otherwise, you'll drive yourself crazy nuts.

Is there a way to better organize these views in the browser? it gets to be kind of unwieldy.

@handjonathan thanks for following up. There are a few concerns I have with the dedicated views route @barthbradley :

1) Let's say I have a series of 4 3D views and I duplicate each view five times for 5 sets of options. If I have to adjust one of the views, I don't know of a way to update the other views to match without deleting the old and duplicating the new one.

2) Keeping track of sets of duplicated views, as mentioned above, especially when they aren't sheeted, is time consuming when you have to add/remove/rename sets as the option set grows and shrinks.

ultimately I found it faster to change each VT design option, as I have only elevations and 3D views in my set so it's just two VTs to update each time I want to print a new option set. I wish there were a way that I could automate this process of iterating through design options while printing.

Thanks.

Charlie
