PLEASE HELP - intersecting roof

Hi, 

I'm hoping someone can help me & quickly ....

I am trying to draw a second roof with gable ends that intersects with another roof.

I'm really stuck on how to do this & would really appreciate any help/feedback.

Option A: using one roof by footprint 

Edit the main roof >>> Use slope arrows to define the gable

Option B:

Do not extrude it all the way through. Use the tool roof join then cut the main using the opening tools.

Repeat on the opposite plane/side

Sorry, I don't really understand the first option & I've tried to join with roof tool, but still no luck. I'll attach some pics...I need the highlighted roof circled in yellow to be gone but I can't figure out how to do it??

Here is the first method..no cutouts needed. You can apply it to both planes, all 4 planes or just one.

And here is how to apply a dormer opening to main roof

• Navigate to Architecture Tab 
• Select Dormer from Openings Contextual Menu
• Pick Main roof to cut
• Pick the bottom edges/planes of the Dormer and last the eave of the main roof
• Use trim to close the loop 
• apply to create the opening

Another quick question - does it matter if the roof isn't a rectangular shape? Please see image attached....

Both methods work for none rectangular shapes.

If you have a sketch of how the final footprint would look like I can capture a GIF showing you how to tackle it..Unless you wish to experiment on your own first then come back for specific questions 🙂
