Placing downlight on plan view

I have selected a downlight, that can be placed on the roof  / ceiling / floor above, that can be seen on the 3D, and also on the reflected ceiling plan.  I can't place it while on the plan view, is there a way to achieve so?

Thank you

But then, they get placed on LEVEL 2?  Which is on the upper part of the slab?

For that way of placement, you can create a family which has the geometry below level and a parameter for offset... But I so pose its not worth it....

- Turn on Underlay to see the Ceiling

- Set workplane  and pick the Ceiling (make sure you have Underlay selectable)

- Now you can place face based Lights on ceiling from a floor plan

But why not simply place them on a RCP?

For Lights, downlights, try to create surface based lights..

ex : if you place it on floor - it will show upwards ( opposideO

2: if you place it on ceiling / roof surface ( in RCP ) then it will show downards ( correct )

thats thats your call...

you cannot create a level based light, and turn it upside down... for thta

you need to create a brand new light, when placed on level shows correct..

hope you got it..

cheers
