Place a Component

Hello. I am trying to paste a component on a plan. It is an air supply component.

I edited the family to a generic model but still cannot place this.

I tried to place the component from Architecture and Annotate too.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi there

The family you are trying to insert needs a host (in this case a ceiling) to be inserted. If the family needs a host it will never let itself be placed in a project if you don't select a suitable host.

@Anonymous As @angelica.rodriguez.3d mentioned, you need a ceiling to place the file....thus be working in a Reflected Ceiling Plan.

If you are needed a floor/faced based item, you will need to create your own family to do this.
