Pixelated PDF

Problem:

The problem is that a sheet of detail views printed to Bluebeam PDF prints correctly EXCEPT for a single individual detail on the sheet that prints out with jagged "pixelated" lines, all others print correctly. Print settings are set to Vector of course, and I have tried switching on and off the anti-aliasing setting but neither setting resolved the issue. See attached PDF.

Solution:

Upon further investigation it was revealed that the detail view in question was called out as a Detail View type. Changing it to a Section view type enabled the Depth Cue setting, and the Depth Cue feature was in fact enabled (despite previously showing as NOT selected). Has anyone else experienced problems with jagged lines printed from PDF with the Depth Cue setting switched on?

Depth cue change your plot from vector to raster. This is why I don't recommend it unless you want your detail as raster. My work around is create masking region and set the transparency to mimic the depth cue. This method will always print as vector.

Perfect, great tip! I will keep this in mind in the future when I need a "Depth Cue" like appearance without stumbling into a raster printing issue. Thanks @syman2000 !

@rauburn

here is a low res GIF capture (no screen recorder) ... PDF Rastered with Depth Cueing  using 2 different and free means for generating Revit PDFs (Had to download one just for the avoidance of doubt).

Rastered lines might not be as sharp as Vector but at my end they neither appear pixelated nor jagged to me.Well! unless my understanding of Jagged and Pixelated is different... but again I probably shouldn't elaborate much on this one, you are happy with the suggestion and a 3rd time would be shame on me ...

Thanks for posting the GIF @RDAOU ! I agree your results with the Raster PDF print looks pretty good. I suppose there was some setting I was missing with my Bluebeam printing configuration (or perhaps even the Bluebeam/Windows print driver itself). Raster opens up a can of worms in my experience in terms of DPI, etc...

Good news is Autodesk has FINALLY built-in their own PDF printer with Revit 2022, and so far I've had pretty good success with it.

@rauburn 2022 exporter isn't bad but there are better; however, that has nothing to do with Raster Processing and the hoax on it causing/being a problematic issue that's why I downloaded PDFcreator for the trial. It is as simple and sweet as a crawfish but one gotta know its secrete...as you New Orleanians say "Pinch the Tail and Suck the Head"

I told ya there and tell ya here...u ask about something but what u're actually looking for something else 🙂 but you are happy to catch whatever is thrown at ya..."Throw me something' Mista" 🙂
