What is the work flow for editing elements created in an existing phase while working in the new construction phase? Othere than graded surfaces that handle this rather nicely, I have never seen a session/video on how to handle this with basic components. For example, an existing building with a simple existing roof needs to be modified to add a second level during the New Construction phase. When you edit that roof in the new construction phase, the edits are also reflected in any of the previous existing views and all of the existing phase drawings are no longer accurrate. The only way I have made this work is to make a copy of the existing roof and insert it on top of itself in the new construction phase. I then demolish the entire existing roof in the new construction phase. I then edit the copy as needed but it now indicates it is part of the new construction phase. But in fact it is not new construction, rather it is still a piece of the existing building. Is there a better, more sophisticated way to undertake this rather typical exercise?
