Phase overlappings now shown properly

Hi all,

I'm going to make two questions that are both related to the phases:

1. I have the configurations of the overwritings as shown in the image. "Verdeckt" means "Hidden". Anyway, as shown, the demolition phase contains anyway a white hatch that prevent the below lines to be seen. Is that "by design" or is there some options that I haven't seen?

2. Is it normal that a room (Flur, left), which has been made in the "New Phase", doesn't go through a "New Phase" Door because is stopped by an existing and not demolished wall? I already tried to workaround the issue by drawing the countour lines, but when i put the room in place revit tells me that the wall has a priority on the lines, therefore the room has been cut.

Thank you!

1-It should work with your settings. Check this:

https://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2024/ENU/?guid=GUID-67D3D6DB-E78D-4711-B9C3-4D30F1C22205

2- After you demolish a wall, new rooms placed should now go through it, because there is no boundary.

Hi all and thanks for your answers!

For what it concern the Room, the problem it's not the room itself, but the fact that is not going through the newly opened door (passage).

For the overrides, I understood what is the rule behind, but maybe there's something that I'm still making false. I'll try tomorrow something new.

Thanks!

If the room is intended to extend to the other side of the wall through the opening then the section of wall between should not be room bounding OR leave it room bounding AND create an Opening in the wall, not using a door or opening family...the Opening > Wall (Opening panel Wall tool). That opening type will not maintain the room bounding of the host wall. It's a little harder to manage the exact size of the opening and it won't schedule as an opening, like a family will.

One way to make the room spanning cross the wall opening is to edit the wall profile to add the opening.

Thank you @SteveKStafford and @ToanDN , it actually worked.
Still I find this annoying, although it's linked with how the wall-rooms relationship works. With the opening I cannot really calculate automatically the demolition surface, moreover the side of the opening have no plaster that can go around.

Another solution I can provide is to put a "no room defining" wall without linking it on the sides on the demolition phase, then leave two separate pieces of wall up and down, with the plaster that will turn correctly. The error will be shown in the comparision plans, but it's not really visible.

You can place "finish" wall types (not room bounding) on the surface of the wall with the opening (use a wall for the core/structure with the opening) or you could use the Paint Tool to paint on the finish at the openings.

Hi,

just a little remainder for this situation (the demolition layer is shown as a white hatch fill overlapping the new phase), still unsolved. The issue is not reacting properly to the Phase filters. Does anyone know if it is an issue related to Revit LT?

Thank you!

So a quick update:

Transparency setting for elements on demolished phase - Autodesk Community

The issue seems to be "by design", because of the filters availability. The problem is that Revit LT doesn't support filters so you have the messy drawing and you have to deal with it.

It's a little bit frustrating because the is no possibility to send the drawings as they are to the buolding office, because they are not understandable.
Moreover the issue disappears if you give a transparecy of 1% to the elements, stating that there is a misbehaviour on how the parameters are coded for every element.

The only workaround is this one:

Solid fill cut pattern does not display on screen but appears in vector print in Revit

That has to be made for each view, for each type of element.
